2. drain green beans and set aside
3. dice onion
4. cook onion and hamburger together in large skillet until cooked throughout
5. drain fat off hamburger
6. in a 13 x 9 pan mix together hamburger, soup and green beans
7. spread hamburger mix over bottom of pan
8. prepare boxed mashed potatoes as instructed (8 to 10 servings are usually sufficient)
9. spread mashed potatoes over hamburger mixture making sure to cover completely
10. layer cheese over potatoes
11. bake for 30 mins or until the cheese is melted
12. let rest 5-10 minutes before serving
